The Board of Directors in partnership with management, continues to monitor the Covid-19 situation and will make any updates as needed.
The fitness room and pools are open for the 2022 season and sanitizers are readily available for use.
Dear Aix La Chapelle Condominium Residents,
The Board, in consultation with the Association Manager, attorney, insurance provider, and other business partners, has been planning for contingencies that may arise in the community as a result
of the spread of COVID-19.
Based on advice that has been circulated by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention and the Utah Department of Health. We have detailed some possible scenarios and our current plans to deal
with them. These plans are subject to change based on CDC guidance and advice from our professional partners.
Association operations Cleaning
The association has been extensively cleaning, disinfecting, and wiping down surfaces in common areas and amenities. Owners are responsible for their private property.
Common areas and amenities
The association has closed the fitness room and other common areas and amenities effective March 20, 2020 until further notice. If/when pools and other common areas open, it will be posted in the newsletter.
Social Distancing
Many experts also are urging people to practice “social distancing,” which is the idea of maintaining an approximate 6-foot distance between other people. It also means limiting nonessential travel,
avoiding public transportation when possible, working from home, and skipping social gatherings
If You Get Sick
Medical authorities are strongly urging all persons who exhibit symptoms to stay home and avoid public spaces unless you need medical care. You also should separate yourself from other people
and pets in your home. If you need to need to visit a doctor or get tested for COVID-19, develop a plan before you go:
- Call ahead before visiting your doctor.
- Wear a face mask if you are sick.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes.
- Clean your hands often.
- Avoid sharing household items, such as utensils, plates, glasses, and towels.
- Clean all “high-touch” surfaces, such as counters, tables, doorknobs, bathroom fixtures, phones,
keyboards, and remotes.
Other
- If appropriate, and after consultation with our professional partners, the association may notify
residents that an individual in the community has contracted the virus.
- The association will be prepared to reasonably accommodate an owner who is sick by postponing violation hearings, extending deadlines on architectural applications, or granting payment extensions if appropriate.
This association will not and does not make any of the decisions mentioned above lightly. These actions are being taken to help ensure the health and welfare of the residents of this community.
We pledge to keep residents informed of all relevant developments and how they affect association operations.
Aix La Chapelle does not provide emergency services. It is also incumbent upon residents to take this situation seriously and residents MUST do their part to minimize the spread of this deadly disease. The association highly encourages you to review safety guidelines and look for updates from the CDC, the local health department, and the World Health Organization.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
The Aix La Chapelle Board of Directors
Dear Owners and Residents,
Summer is almost upon us. In a normal year we would be anticipating the opening of our two pools and enjoying them on hot summer days. Unfortunately, this is not a normal year. The COVID-19 virus has altered our lives and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
Last week Utah moved to the Yellow level /Low Risk category for individuals and businesses. Although we are in the low risk category there are numerous regulations regarding both community pools and pools in communities like ALC (Utah Leads Together - http://www.coronavirus.utah.gov/utah-leads- together/).
The Aix La Chapelle Board of Directors has reviewed these regulations and consulted with our insurance provider and attorney. Exercising an abundance of caution we have determined that we cannot open the pools or fitness room at this time.
The following factors influenced this decision:
1. Community Health Risk.
2. Additional expenses for special qualified staff to ensure absolute compliance-at all times at the pools/fitness room-with the added extensive sanitizing costs and other expenses.
3. Liability for our association members.
The community has done very well throughout this crisis and although some may be disappointed by the decision, it is the correct decision at this time for the safety of our community as a whole.
Thanks to everyone as we continue forward through these unprecedented times as we all do our part to stay safe and healthy.
The Board will review the pool, pool decks and fitness room closure regularly with a possible reopening date as new national, state, county and local guidelines are released. Any such updates will be posted on the Newsletter at www.aixlacondo.com. No sunbathing will be allowed in the pool deck area during this time.
Respectfully,
Aix La Chapelle Board of Directors
